Ian A. Myles, MD/MPH, was born and raised in Colorado. He completed his M.D. at the University of Colorado and trained in internal medicine at The Ohio State University. His passion for allergy and clinical immunology led him to The National Institutes of Health, where he completed his fellowship. He has dedicated his career to exploring how environmental factors contribute to diseases, questioning the dominant focus on genetics. His research has led to significant discoveries, including the development of the first topical probiotic for eczema. Currently, he leads the Epithelial Therapeutics Unit, aiming to create safer and more effective treatments for skin conditions.
